#1: Retail Choice 2.0: In this pro-supplier podcast hosted by Bryan Lee, Octopus Energy’s CEO makes the case for why Retail Choice 1.0 is stale. Using Octopus’ Kraken platform, Mr. Lee also explains the innovative and cost saving programs they launched in Texas. In 2022, according to EIA861, Octopus Energy had 15,000 accounts that paid on avg. 10.6¢ / kWh all in. For reference, 5.2 million Texas residential regulated accounts paid 12.9 ¢ / kWh, and 6.7 million deregulated accounts paid 14.4 ¢ / kWh. Octopus is doing something right.
